I got a bulls-eye put on my back at work for protecting people that worked for me, from this other manager that is so condescending, self-centered, full of himself, it's unbelievable. I give everyone a even break, until they set me up or lie to me at work. It didn't take this guy long to outright lie to me when I asked him a technical question. From then on, I documented everything on him, things he said to people, things he did to people. I did it for over 2 years.When one girl quit because of him and she was a good worker, I went to HR and explained why she left and the general feeling towards this manager, C, I'll call him. Turns out 8 other people too ,went to HR over him for sexual discrimination to racial discrimiation that the people themselves when on their own. Because HR had to talk to him and his boss about my issues, that started my spirl down of my career. They set me up on sexual harassment charges with a girl that I mentiored in my team and basically told her that if she didn't lodge the complaint, we'd both get fired. I got brought into HR over it and I had no clue what they were talking about and it was a you tell me, no.. you tell me, back and forth for 45 minutes. Finally, C's boss and the HR guy decided that I would get a 1st and final warning for harassment, which I did not agree with because they never did tell me what I did and the threat of termination if it happened again.. I said if what happenes? They said, you know".. Again, I did not know what the hell they were talking about. Turns out I got transferred out of my team for it to a technical position that I had no clue what to do. I'd been a supervisor/leader for 15 years. I got training from this kid that spoke and did things so fast, I couldn't keep up with everything he was doing, with all my note taking and continuously told him to slow down... which would last for 5 minutes, We got a new boss, a gal that had left the company or get fired about 8 years before and she got hired as the manager of this team. As she got use to the people on the team, I explained to her the crap I went through and after a below average review from C and his boss, the following year, she started on me telling me daily, "You're not meeting expectations.". I heard this every day, 4-5 times a day on any and everything I did. This went on for 7 months until one morning, I lost track of 3 hours of time while some important work was happening. I still don't know where the 3 hours went. I landed up getting pulled out of work my a neurologist to find out why. They thoughtit was a mini stroke at first. I turned the claim in to get disability whilr they were looking for the cause and the insurance refused to consider it a disability, so I had to use vacation time. I had 5 doctors submit reports on their findings on an appeal and the insurance company refused to allow the claim. I used 35 days of vacation while they ran tests and I was under doctors care and on anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meds.Doctors finally determined I had "Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome" because I was so dressed and running myself in the ground to 'meet expectations. I went back to work after 7 weeks and within a week, she was back on my ass. She corrected me on everything from punctuation to leaving off a detail of a meeting I had to chair, take minutes and update spreadsheets. I got fired for poor job performance in Feb, 2008. I was old enough to retire after almost 35 years with the company. I got my retirement, savings, insurance for life for my family, but I got screwed out the door. The building with over 400 people were shocked that I was gone. many called and I just told them I'd retired due to medical reasons.
I go through stages where I want to get C and his boss back, but worse.. I want to get her back for making me crack under her continuous pressure. To this day, the employees hate her guts, the managers love her. She walks around in her dress suits and all cocky. If I could just have a hour with her alone.......
